This is the second time the IPLP Program has hosted the Special Rapporteur on the rights of Indigenous peoples. S. James Anaya was appointed to the position in 2008 during his time as a College of Law professor and left the U.N. position in 2014.
Victoria Tauli-Corpuz
Victoria Tauli-Corpuz was appointed as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples by the Human Rights Council in 2014, and served until April 2020.

James Anaya served as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples from May 2008 to June 2014.
Dr. Rodolfo Stavenhagen
From 2001 to 2008, Dr. Rodolfo Stavenhagen was appointed as the first United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of the human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous peoples.
